We continue our program on Vocational Training where we provide encouragement and assistance for the senior boys and girls are undergoing industrial training. We are overwhelmed with joy when we observed the four students completed their trainings and now working in different places. The followings are the photos and identification of the achievements of youngsters with little boost hope and encouragement. We have seen one senior girl now she was worked in Jagadalpur as a nurse but few months she joined for B. Sc Nursing in Koraput. They are the models of our mission and work.
We organized swachh Bharat and SwachhJeeban awareness programme at Badamanjari and Jeypore. We taught and trained 2000 villagers in Badamanjari where people from 30 villages came together. And we had a gathering of 400 from different parts of Odisha in Jeypore. Youth and leaders took the oath to keep the village, roads, drains and surroundings clean. They are encouraged to sustain the program as cleanliness is not one time event. We are comforted with great response and participation. We have presented many case studies of different towns and cities as well as villages. We used pictures, arts and videos to communicate the truth about the cleanliness movement to keep life clean and better. The villages were shown greater interest towards Swachh Bharat Abhijan and we observe how the villages are clean to the extent they learnt and they are applying it regularly without fail. The program was successful because of the participatory process of the villagers and leaders. We do hope the swachh Bharat Abhijan in this locality will enhance the health atmosphere and community will live peacefully. We the volunteers and members of Mukti Malaya Society were involved with the cooperation our active volunteers and village leaders to clean the connecting roads and drains of community centres of TalaGanjeiPadar, KurdiPadar, and Karanjguda and church and worship centres of Badamanjari, Jeypore, Talakanti, Madkanra, Salpaguda and PatuSenery. Sanitation Awareness Campaign continued in Badamanjari, Chintalmanjari ,Gicchamanjari, Khajuuripadar, of Semiliguda target villages through our volunteers during June 2016. We introduced Free Labor Day where 20-25 each village youth came forward and cleaned the villages as well as drains.
The digital literacy abhijan successfully conducted in our target village in cooperation with RITES Balangir. 210 students completed their course and certified through Pradhan Mantri Digital Literacy. It was dearly and effective program and students have learnt many basics of digital lietarcy. Our voluteers worked hard to reach students and to train them with digital prescribed course.
The mega Annual Sports and Games event produced many players for cricket, football, kabadi and running. The District Sports Authority selected our girl children to play cricket in Cuttack. The team of girl with the leadership of Jeypore Sports Authority participated and won Nabaragpur district but lost their match with Sundargarh. It has raised the morale of girls and we expect their further development to go higher level of training and learn best techniques to compete with others.
Our village based volunteers with the help doctors and staff continued the family plan awareness programme in the health camp and encouraged them to go for it without fear to keep the family healthy and financially better. Many women have decided for planning but wanted the consent of husband and family.We have given health care and teaching to the children through the doctors. The doctor taught them about cleanliness, hygiene and eating nutritious food. Our volunteers helped to take.
We continued our awareness programme on Malaria and Typhoid because the remote areas people are affected highly instead of constant effort. We decided to give more education on Malaria and Typhoid to 13 badly affected village of Semilguda and Pottangi Block during health camp. Our 25 volunteers who are well equipped imparted the knowledge on practical steps such as using medicated mosquito net, drinking boiled water, not to stock water near house or water tank for long time, cleaning the drains and dustbins regularly. The remote villages are not out of touch from drugs and alcohol which leads to poor health, mental and psychological disorder, broken families and more importantly poverty. We continued screening films and photos with the help of LCD Projector and impacted 10 villages of Semiliguda and Pottangi Block. We conducted AIDS camp for the driver society of slum dwellers namely Dhepoguda and Dheposahi and attracted the crowd of two villages. The youths were presented skit, drama and played songs with dance on the subject AIDS. They taught the truth of AIDS the killer disease through stories and pictures. They shouted safer sex is safer life and the crowd also recited the same.
Health check-up camps arranged in Koigam and Badamanjari for the needy community considering the impact and benefits to the needy and poverty stricken people group We treated 201, and 221 patients and distributed medicines. We gave them medicines freely for different illness such as malaria, dysentery, skin diseases, cold and cough, diarrhea and stomach problems. fevers, headaches and body aches. The doctor referred chronic and serious illnesses to PHC and district headquarters.
We arranged Agriculture Teaching and Practical Training for the interested youngsters with the help of Pottangi Block Village Agriculture staff in the Karanjguda village. They taught them the basics methods of preparing soil/ground, seedling, watering, applying manure, compost, fertilizer and timely care and also the technique of spraying. We have distributed freely agricultural equipment and seeds to the families. The teaching and training helped them to yield more paddies, grow more kitchen gardens for all seasons and also to tap subsidized seeds from the block of government schemes. They are now able to produce good amount of ginger and cabbage. They are selling products in the Kunduli Market. It has increased their income. The parents are now able spend money for their children who are in colleges and moving for higher studies. They are able to save money in the bank. We are approaching the government authorities with the help of local leaders to open cold storage in Pottangi Block. The government is planning to open a cold storage and good marketing facilities. The farmers are enjoying working in the field and kitchen garden and all family members are engaged to produce good products and to earn their livelihood and also to meet other challenges of their lives.
Our computer literacy program is helping the school and college going students as well as unemployed educated mass to undergo the basic and fundamental learning course. We provide teacher, materials and computer lab with broadband facilities. We have trained hundreds of students with MS Office, Internet Browsingand to access into Audio and Video file and Computer devices. This start up is gearing up job creation in the blocks and towns and helping the youths to earn a little to move forward and also reducing down the idleness and sluggishness among youths.
We have distributed 200 pieces of warm clothes and bed sheet and other requirements of needy and deprived children to boost their morality and bring them to manifold of school and education. We distributed first time hygienic itemslike brush, paste; tongue cleaner, soap, detergent and hair oil to the mothers fortheir children. This program initiated to boost the morale of parents as well as children. The volunteers worked hard to teach and train the parent how to take care of nail, teeth, tongue, eyes, ears, hair and also helped the mothers to teach the grown up girl in taking proper care during monthly cycle. There is a great awareness in the village to for personal hygiene and health. The children taking care of their hands after each toilet and this program influenced the parents to practice the same in their personal life. The hygienic value and system in the community is sustaining and thereby the community enjoying a good health and environment. The free toilet facilities to beneficiaries by the government are working as booster does in the community.
The organization served the children withits non-formal education programs in Pottangi and Semiliguda blocks of Koraput district where literacy percentage is very substantially low. . The trained and committed volunteers of target villages motivated drop outs and led them to formal school. The regular awareness programmes influenced the Parents to take care of the children health and mind. The engagement of their children for the field and forest work significantly declined. The parents have shown greater interest to send the school for tuition as well as school. The adult education centres among the woman and grown-up girls in the afternoon impacted greatly and they are able to read simple books and keep small records. The regular motivational camps and awareness with some activities have forced the parents and children to make the village to rush on the way of development. It has largely decreased the laziness and disunity. The government programmes are coming into force slowly. The teachers are coming to the school regularly and there is regular dialogue between the state working force and the natives.
